Battery and Electronic Waste Disposal

What is a Lead Batteries?

The lead–acid battery was invented in 1859 by French physicist Gaston Planté and is the earliest type of rechargeable battery. Lead batteries are found in motor vehicles,  generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Solar Systems

What is E-Waste?

Electronic waste or e-waste describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. Used electronics which are destined for refurbishment, reuse, resale, salvage recycling through material recovery, or disposal are also considered e-waste.

Why should waste electronics be recycled?

Batteries and Electronic devices contain a variety of materials, including metals that can be recovered for recycling. Electronic e-waste disposal and Batteries Recycling saves resources because new metals don’t have to be mined.

In addition, electronic devices contain high enough levels of certain materials, such as lead, that render them hazardous waste when disposed. Hazardous wastes cannot be disposed of in the garbage.

Inet Jamaica Ltd offers Lithium and Lead  Battery and Electronic e-waste disposal, product destruction, and data destruction services to residents (collected by NSWMA) and businesses throughout Jamaica.
